PROCESS

  • Check the order status above. Proceed only if it is OPEN.

  • Read through the information and contract section.

  • E-mail me the basics of your commission--who the character is, a little visual reference if you have it, etc. This is just to make sure it's a commission I can take, so don't worry about including absolutely everything.

  • If I can take the commission, I'll send you a form to give me the rest of the details I need. Fill this out.

  • I'll send you a sketch. This is your chance to let me know if there are any big changes that need to be made—I won’t do major edits to finished pieces. I am happy to go through multiple iterations on sketches as needed.

  • After the sketch has the go-ahead, I'll finish the commission and send it to you. Please note that some commissions, especially full illustrations, can take multiple months to be fulfilled depending on what freelance projects crop up for me.

  • I will do a round of minor edits to the finished commission if needed; any other edits after that will add 10% to the commission price unless they come from a mistake on my end.

  • When everything is okayed, either send payment via Zelle, or I'll send you an invoice on PayPal. Pay this within 10 days.

CONTRACT

By commissioning me, you're agreeing to the following:

  • Kin maintains the copyright to your commissioned art. If you post your commission anywhere, including editing them for use in graphics or avatars, you MUST include visible credit to Kin (@kintheartist). You may not, under any circumstance, use Kin's commissions for commercial gain without prior agreement and purchase of an extended commercial use license at added cost. You may not, under any circumstance, use Kin's art for NFT's.

  • Kin reserves the right to refuse large edits at the final stage (like substantial costume or color changes or additional figures) and you will still be required to pay the full price of the commission.

  • If you request additional edits after the free round in the final phase, you will be required to pay an additional 10% of your commission price.

  • You agree to pay your invoice in full within 10 days or receipt unless otherwise agreed upon with Kin; a 5% late fee will be incurred for each day after this 10 day period.

  • Kin reserves the right to cancel a commission at any time for any reason.

  • If you cancel your commission you will be required to pay a percentage of its final price dependent upon how complete the commission is at the time of cancellation; 20% at the sketch phase, 70% at the painting phase.

  • This constitutes a legally binding contract, and by responding "Yes" to the first question in the commission form you are agreeing to its terms. (note: you must be 18 or older, or have a legal guardian respond for you)
